General Information

Hair loss is one of the most important aesthetic problems seen in men and women. Hair loss, which is called “Alopecia” in medical language, affects 70 percent of men and 10 percent of women. Alopecia and lack of hair after hair loss is a serious problem that creates a sense of aging in the individual and negatively affects the person mentally and socially.

Androgenic type (male pattern) hair loss, which can be seen even in the early twenties, is the most important cause of hair loss in men and women. Male pattern hair loss depends on genetic characteristics. Congenitally sensitive to male hormone, hair follicles affected by the testosterone hormone begins to shed. Sensitive hair follicles lose their diameters and lengths by thinning first, and then in time weaken until they shed. Both men and women have androgenic (masculine type) hormones. This hormone, which is also found in women, is the most important reason for hair loss. The only solution for androgenic hair loss is hair transplant.

Other causes of hair loss in men and women can include; stress and psychological disorders, iron deficiency and anaemia, thyroid gland disorders, vitamin deficiency, pregnancy, menopause, hormonal causes, nutritional problems (such as protein-poor diet), burns, cancer treatments, traumas and chemical use. In case of hair loss other than androgenic (hereditary) hair loss, after the initial examination by your doctor, the necessary investigations are made for the cause. Approach to patients with hair loss problems should question all systems, internal diseases that may cause hair loss and scalp diseases should be differentiated. After investigating the causes of hair loss, the most appropriate drug treatments and supportive treatments should be applied to eliminate these causes. It should be known that the same treatment method cannot be applied to every hair loss patient.

Hair Transplant

Hair transplantation is the process of transplanting the hair follicles between the two ears on the upper part of the nape, which are genetically coded not to shed, inside channels on hairless areas by special techniques. Today, hair transplantation is known as the most preferred aesthetic surgery procedure by men with nose aesthetics and liposuction procedures in the world.

Hair transplantation performed by a Plastic Surgery specialist under favourable conditions ensures that the result is extremely natural and the process is 100% successful.

FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)

The FUE method is primarily a follicular unit extraction process used to obtain follicular units. It is a technique in which only the follicular unit is removed from the scalp without cutting and suturing. In order to remove these units, lumen needles with tubular insides are used which have a special tip design of 0.5 – 0.9mm diameters. Planting is done in a special way, 50-60 follicular units per square centimetre (100-120 hair strands) is possible to plant (more can be planted if desired).

In the FUE technique, the hair roots are removed from the scalp with the help of a special micromotor and prepared for transplantation. The use of micromotors has started in the FUE method in recent years and has enabled the removal of more hair follicles in a shorter period than in previous years. In this way, less root removal and time loss problems which have disadvantages compared to FUT method were eliminated. This method allows the removal of hair follicles from other parts of the body (such as chest and back hairs, etc.).
